Default Might be selling the Scoob - need advice

I've had my latest Impreza for 2.5 years and have loved it. However, it's now at 80k on the clock and I'll probably be changing it next year.

Question is - am I best selling it now with 80K on the clock rather than 100k? I always feel the 100k is a big barrier to buyers.

In a couple months time I'll probably be able to get a company car anyway - probably a new A4 2.0 TDI Sline. I do 95% motorway miles so a quieter car is appealing.

Any idea what mine is worth these days? It's a 2001 Buyeye wagon, 80k on the clock running just over 300bhp.

Thanks
Richard.

No idea what its worth mate, there does seem to be a bit of a stigma about cars that have done over 100k, espeicially with performance cars. Probably best to sell now even though modern cars can trounce 100K miles!

I haven't a clue what it is worth, but would wait a few months anyway. The winter is almost at an end and most people are starting to perk up and look forward to the summer. Your car is not going to depreciate much in the next few months so hang onto it and wait for the temperatures to rise and the sun to come out. Everyone will feel better about life and will be more prepared to spend several grand on an 80k mile performance car that is now 4 generations old. Hope that helps.

Thanks guys - yes, I think I'll look to sell it in the summer - I think it will be June until the S-Line version of the new A4 will be available anyway.

I imagine I'm probably looking at around £5.5k for mine.

you are best off selling it with 80k mate. Being a bugeye wagon wont help much selling it private so you may have to take it to a stealer!!
