Default Desperate for help

Hi guys was driving along happily earlier today when the scoob just died.
It started again a couple of times but only lasted 5-10 seconds before she died again.
Had breakdown out who diagnosed it as lost feed to my fuel pump.
Did a search on here to find where the fuel pump relay was.
I looked above and behind my drivers side fuse box to find 2 black relays (in the search results there mentioned as being green.
Also there is a lot of mentions about the alarm being the problem.
Basically can anyone help with detailed ish instructions for a novice on how to diagnose this fault properly to establish if it is just the relay or something else.
the car is a my99 uk impreza saloon uk model.
Thank you very much in advance.

Fuel pump connection under the back seat is known to fail.. May be worth checking the wiring there.
