1993 Legacy abd Impreza differences?
#1
Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the 1993'ish Legacy Twin Turbo and the Impreza's of the same era?
I am thinking buying a Legacy Twin Turbo - is it a wise thing to do?
Thanks,
Mike.

I don't think they made the twin-turbo in '93. I had a '91 UK turbo for 100,000 miles. Also a 1994 Impreza turbo for 80,000. Legacy was slower (but still pretty quick) comfier, lots more kit and more spacious. Impreza handling, driving pleasure and general sportiness was miles ahead. I now have a GT-B twin turbo which gives more power than the Impreza and the comfort of the Legacy as well as space for kids/dogs.
None of the above are exactly cheap to run, but they are IMHO the best available options.

93 was the first TT BG in Japan.
Good cars - lots of bits from the Impreza sus kits will work, too. Manual is preferred, but the autos go well enough.
From memory the relief valve is not very strong (not a breakage risk, but not strong enough to keep the boost where you want it). One of our mems here got a nice blow off valve and fixed it...long time ago now and not 100% sure (too many vinos since ).
Otherwise it was a very nice machine.
Hope this helps a bit.
