Default Knocking from rear drivers side help

Hi
Just noticed a problem with my MY99 STI. Its starting to develop a knocking noise from the drivers side rear. Im gussing it might be sumthing to do with my dampers or sumthing.

Don't seem to make noise when going over speed bumps or anything, just seems to make when im slowing down to a halt or driving real slow.

Do u hav any ideas?

second that the rear passenger went on my p1

make sure you get atleast the pair replaced and better still all four

if you go to suabru they will want 240 quid plus vat a corner so it maybe time to upgrade the suspension which is what i did,

Think Scoobyclinic will do it for about 1/2 that (for a new-age anyway)

Can't believe the problem goes back that far,had both sides replaced on mine at different times, now the rear bearings are going too, only done 20000 miles. Might go down the audi route sooner rather than later!

The rear shocks for a MY99 UK turbo are about 95 quid each from Subaru IIRC. I don't know how much it would cost to fit them - my nephew did mine.

yep i reckon...mine went on my 53plate sti last may.....if you go to scoobyclinic they make their own which are a lot longer than the subaru ones......a very common fault which subaru wont address....not suprised from money they make from it.....think mine at the clinic were £100 per shock.....well worth a buzz.......

P1 dampers are desperately expensive, unless you buy them from Prodrive USA (who might have closed down now).

Ive just had my car in garage for them to try and locate the problem. They say they can't pinpoint the noise. They don't think its my damper as they said it seems fine.

They say it could be my diff mounts, but they said it will need further investigating. I need to try and produce the noise when the car is on ramps they said?
