Guys,
I've heard on one hand the subaru is a reliable, 150,000 miles easy car and on the other - ooh, it's not a high mileage car to own.

What's the truth? I'm looking at buying an STI V Type-R Coupe and expect to buy a '99 with roughly 36,000 miles. If I keep it for three or four years and put the mileage up to 80,000miles what would the likely affects be?

Serious answers.... please?

Thanks in advance.

Thumbs up

If this got a service history and not over mod'ed they do tend to be nice and strong.

Effects will be a stinging pain in the wallet caused by poor fuel consumption.

Otherwise an ideal way to do high mileages and enjoy it.

Not too worried fuel-wise, Last four cars were:

Cerbera 4.2
Lotus Esprit Sport 350
Cerbera 4.5
Saab Aero Cabriolet (selling now)

The Saab's most economical and with my driving it gets just over 20mpg.

I'm presuming that a type-r will run happily on optimax/SUL without needing additional booster.
