neutral position switch

Default neutral position switch

Hi
I was reading a thread about the neutral position switch which can cause missfires. My car is a 1996 wrx import where would it be located on my model??

i done an ecu check at the weekend and this came up as a fault on mine although mine is a 99 car any idea where its located how much to replace etc and before any one says (tc) i know it wont solve my problems with fuel in oil mpg etc just thought might as well get it on the list of things to do whilst shes off the damn road again any ideas lads and lasses

IME it doesn't actually cause a misfire but triggers the CEL, displaying a misfire code. MY02 WRX ran perfectly despite reporting misfires on 3 cylinders

It is located on the nearside of the gearbox. Bit of a fiddle to get to.
