JDM Bugeye WRX Newbie
Hi new here today. Had the above car since last summer. I wanted a reasonably quick standard New Age saloon but couldn't afford STi prices. It's a fairly unmolested early car (GDA) with the Jap spec 247bhp motor. Got an HKS Silent Hi-Power cat-back exhaust to go on, which should put it in line with the 260bhp or so of a UK Bugeye STi. It's an interesting car on 17" Subaru alloys with an STi-type bonnet and subtle bodykit. It appears a bit lower than most UK cars, but I'm not 100% certain. I like the Jap headlights and close ratio gears, although it's not the best motorway cruiser. Since I bought it, it's had TSL wheel alignment and a Big Service at a Subaru dealership. It looks a bit different to the usual crowd. Curiously it's got the intercooler water spray pipework and nozzles fitted, but I am sure it's not a complete kit (there's no bag in the boot). Is it worth hooking this all up? I used to have an Integrale: the general consensus there is that there really isn't any noticeable benefit when the system is plugged in. A fair number of Integrale Evo 1's were fitted with it for rally homologation purposes, but Lancia supplied it "unplumbed" to do yourself. Those that have fully installed it have seen little benefit and a lot of hassle with empty water bags and re-bleeding of the system. Anyway, what do you guys think?
