Default V5 number of previous owners

Guys,

Im looking at few P1's and they mostly have 6 or more owners. The nicest one that I've seen has 7 owners. My question is that too many owners and would it put anyone off when it comes to resale time? Your suggestions will be apprecaiated!

mate had a p1 and you wont be disappointed.

as for the owners not a big deal to me obviously not talking of 20 owners but as long as it has got all the stamps in the right place and a decent folder of recipts for any work then that would be fine by me.

Cheers stevie, it seems to have had a rebuild at api at some point but no reciepts for it. It has a stamped service book etc and only done 50k. Just the 7 owners was worrying me a bit...

nice one

Number of owners doesnt make a blind bit of difference its probably down to the fact that people buy these cars and cant afford to run them so sell them on

Precisely why 7 owners should set alarm bells ringing!

7 owners=1 per year!! check service history to ensure servicing up to date ie every 6 months not just every 10,000 miles and check reg with api to see what work has been done

Hi, my terzo has 6 previous owners and it didnt put me off one bit. Service history is extensive, and theres reciepts for just about everything that has ever been done on the car. Its just done 60000 and its booked in for major service...feels like a new car to drive, no rattles etc it has obviously been well looked after mechanically.

Should also maybe mention that my friend was the last owner so maybe that has something to do with me not being worried...anyway i'm pleased with it.

Hope this in some way helps...although my car isnt a P1.

API cant inform me of work done unfortunately due to data protection act etc. So Im stuck on that case. Maybe I should consider a car with less owners but on the same note it wont mean that it will be any better

Cheers Alan, it helps a bit mate but the only thing that worries me is that I will be the 8th or 9th owner and when it comes to resale it may cause problems? I rather it had 6 owners like yours

Ps terzo's are

50,000 miles, 7 owners and some sort of rebuild? Maybe API just put a clutch in it but anything else (and possibly even that) and I'd be thinking this car has had some seriously mechanically unsympathetic owners. I wouldn't go near a car with 7 previous owners in as many years, especially when it's the type of car that could end up costing you in a big way if it's a wrong 'un.

Just checked and its 7 previous I'm the 8th

My terzo isnt so as it isnt cosmetically standard(wish it was). P1 front bumper and P1 wheels so it certainly isnt for the purists out there!

Hmmm I think you have a point if all the history ie receipts, invoices etc were there to show it wouldnt be as bad..

I've got another 2 P1's lined up to see yet so I will reserve judgment...
