Most people have seen the new shape impreza whether that be from photos, at the motorshow or in the flesh. Where does everyone stand on it ?

Sorry guys but I actually really like it.
Yes I know its not what everyone was wanting but dont forget that subaru is a small company that is trying to increase its sales. So it had designed the car to appeal to more people.

I think it is a work of art myself.
Cracking car to drive too.
I saw this with the Sierra when it arrived to replace the Cortina - I was a FORD man then.
The Sierra was slated from every corner and didn't sell.
Hence, I picked up a 6 month old model for £3000 - a nice Pink Metallic 2.0 GL
It had some teething troubles, but - being FORD - they were cheap to iron out.
Kept it for 18 months and sold it for £3250! Simply because the public had now come to accept it ....
The Impreza is a niche car and I think it will struggle to sell - however, there could be bargains about in the summer ..... fancy a STi with options thrown in, 0% Finance, free Servicing for 3 years and at a mouth watering £19,999?
And that is a distinct probability if they don't sell!

Just face it, some designer has got it seriously wrong with this car because Subaru were aiming this car at the focus market and who wants a 4 wheel drive family car that will cost a lot more to service and run than the 2 wheel focus version which is the market that Subaru have targeted.
The car looks unhappy in its looks, the grill and the front end makes the car look confused as to what am i ?

If the boot is bigger than it looks then I will buy one. I didn't buy my MY02 WRX for its looks, and although I don't think the new Impreza stands out, I don't think it's bad. They should have dropped the Impreza name and devised a new one. Let's see what deal can be had when I speak to the dealer next week.

I agree, The impreza in all its guises and editions is always going to be a legend. This new car whether liked or not is a new direction for Subaru and deserved a fresh start without all the negativity derived from being ugly compared to previous imprezas aimed at a different market.
For what its worth I like the new shape and support the reasons behind it however I will also like the older models, at the end of the day, their a great car to drive, always turn heads and has a fantastic community associated with it, the day I stop liking them will simply arrive when the grin on my face disapears when I drive 1!

Depends what version of the new hatch you are referring to.If its the dull plain looking wrx then i think its horrible but if you mean the pumped up STi that really does look stunning with its flared arches and 18s as standard (well the Litchfields one does anyway) I have based my vote on the STi version FWIW

I am another fan of the new shape.
Nothing wrong with the previous saloons but before my last two scoobs it's mainly been hatchbacks for me.
So glad Subaru now have the STI Hatch

Impreza MY 08 for me looks beautifull, been to Switzerland seems to be selling quite well cause they are already seen on the road, in fact I have bought WRX 08, since it is my first Subaru for me hope that Subaru engines are durable, I have a friend he gots impreza 2000 model and already covered 320,000 miles, the trouble he experienced are changing of clutch around four times and brakes pads and tires. I been reading about Subaru manufuctures found out that production last year exceded the 600,000 units, it is true that it is not so big in Japan but internationaly seems to be a medium car producer.
