With all the ice around at the moment, presumably they could just tow the car away without even bothering to break in or take the handbrake off!

I'd rather not read how to circumvent an immobiliser on a public bbs though - you never know who's reading. Curiously '93-'95 Scoobies are in the high risk category while later ones are only medium risk (like most other cars in the list), so I guess the better security in the later ones is helping.

Further observation: nobody seems to nick TVRs - I think I just found my next car!

The home office has just released a list of how often a model of car is stolen up to 1999.

Between 4-21 stolen out of every 1000 motors. (Medium risk) not that bad - could be a lot worse. How do the theives get round the Cat 2 immobilisers (or better) that I would have thought every single Impreza owner has on their car ?

AndyC,

Maybe the TVRs are generally written off before they are nicked?

It's 'cos there are no safety features in a TVR. Dead men don't claim.
