Question making an bug-eye sti fly?

Hi. I've got a pretty much standard, apart from a cat back 3" exhaust and a fake hks dump valve, version 7 STi import. I was wondering what difference it would make If I fitted some sort of induction kit (K&N Typhoons been recommended) or panel filter, remove the centre cat and have an ecu-tek re-map.

Would it make much difference both bhp/torque wise and real life on the road difference. Also have you any idea what mine should be as it is.

Thanks

Induction kit will feed hot air into the engine, reducing power unless you get a cold air feed.
Dump valve...lose it and replace with the standard recirculaying one.
De cat and remap will up the power. Standard air filter is just fine at your stage of mods.

Fuel pump, de-cat or sports cat go 3" if you think you'll want more later, plus ecutek will give you 330 bhp (+) and the car will drive much more responsively.... after a classic mine felt heavy till the re-map. Now it feels quick like it should have in the first place...
Revs cleanly to the limit now, whereas before the re-map anything over 6500 rpm was a waste of time.
Sadly mines now heading for 400 bhp ! Shame ?

Factor in a new fuel pump as well.

As dunx says, you should probably get a sport cat downpipe as well, as I believe the standard downpipe cat is a bit restrictive (this is replaced on the PPP for example, and PPP is only about 300ish bhp).
