Help Needed....
Hi folks....
Got a call from a mate...he has a 96 sti....had a few problems with it recently but the main one seems to be .....top radiator hoses....he has had 3 split in the last month on the car....they are splitting right along the seem indicating that internal pressure has blew them apart...any ideas what might be causing the increase and overload in pressure in this hose.....as I said I belive its the top radiatior one...
thanks for your help..

I would get it to a rad specialist or garage and get them to pressure test it and also check it to see if there is fuel/oil/exhaust gasses in the coolant. They check it with a thing that looks like a turkey baster that reacts to any impurities.
My guess is he has got a head gasket gone or maybe a cracked head or such like and the pressure is escaping into the coolant and blowing the hose.
It could also be his rad is silted up - but not as likely.
