I wouldnt bother, because after a while your steering will begin to creak so much that you'd wish that you hadnt paid for itto be done. Get a full geometry setup instead

Same county as myself.

I head up to Dastek in Dalgety bay. Laser 4W alignment done there. About £50.

It's because it's close to my work & very trustworthy guys, but they do pretty much everything on the STi and vRS, apart from dealer stamps.

that sounds pretty reasonable. where abouts roughly are u from? I'm just south-ish of Lanark.

have noticed you on a few threads since i've joined, u seem a pretty knowledgable guy as far as scoobs are concerned...I take it uv owned a few? This is my first(i'm 20) so I dont have many contacts as far as getting it looked after is concerned. know plenty of local garages, but they're not so handy with the sub.

Another thing i'm finding with having a certain amount of my income set aside for the car is that I constanly feel the need to modify/perfect it lol i'm sure u all have this problem.

Decided against the bump steer mod as there seems to be a downside in relation to long term feel and reliability. You are right Alan, this moding bug is very dangerous indeed! Whiteline arb and drop links turn up tomorrow then its time to order up the DS2500 or pagid blue pads along with the ss hoses and dot 5.1 fluid. In the meantime it looks like I am taking off the inlet manifold to replace leaky rubber fuel hoses! Again more money as I think I will do the manifold spacer insulation mod along with the header tank mod. Another £100!

Aaaahhhhhh!!!!!!

What combination of discs and pads did you go for?

Nice looking motor and I like the engine mod comment. See my scoby and top rated thread if you can be bothered reading it!

Just north-ish of Lanark. You've probably heard my car then.

The knowledge has come from way too many hours on here and asking plenty of questions. This is only my 2nd subaru, my first many moons ago, when you were at nursery.

I've had a problem finding the right garages too. But i use Dastek now, as they're close to work, reliable and are good guys.

Aye, i know what you mean about money & modding. I've spent nearly a small countries debt on mine and still want more. Avoid this forum, it's addictive!

Can't really spend any more money on the STi. Still paying some mods off and it's too much lost money. But a built 2.35/2.5, 6 pots and coilovers still keep tempting me.

Hypertech in Falkirk have a good name and can do full alignment as well - also Marc at The Garage in Wishaw has just got in new machine to do alignment (iirc) and anyone who owns/owned an 11 sec GTS-T and tuned it himself is fine by me
He also serviced my FTOs over the years and knows Jap cars very well

EBC turbo grooved, with redstuff pads. Quite a progressive feel to the brakes and they do stop well if stamped on...but to be honest I'm not expecting anything special as my Terzo's calipers are standard which means 2 pots . Not prepared to spend the money on better ones, as its still just a UK turbo engine at the end of the day, need to keep my sensible head on and save for a newage STi I think, although that will be a few years away yet until insurance is anything like what i'm prepared to pay. Have heard good things about hypertech Btw! Nice detailed write up on car but where are the photos??

Gaz, I havnt heard...or seen the car for that matter, I definetly would have noticed it! Yeah have heard good things about dastek. Theres a mechanic I know that just recently went self employed and he's the kind of guy that wouldnt leave something unless it was 100% perfect so I use him as much as I can, but at the end of the day he isnt a subaru specialist so some things he will just tell me, he doesnt think he should do. My car is booked in at AWD motorsport(perth) in a few weeks time for 60000 mile service, and I've heard they have a good name.

This forum is seriously addictive, i'm on it every day now

Also noticed you both have experience of using Andy Forrest, what are your opinions??(although from what I've seen on here it isnt a question I need to ask...)

Yeah they have done all the services etc on most of my uncle's cars. Last one being sapphire cosworth which they had running 330bhp, but the way it pulled was unbelievable! not sure if they map or if it was someone contacted through them, but they've taken care of a good few of his cars through the years and he has always been happy.

It hasnt been the weather to get some pics done and I cant seem to upload the power graph for some reason. Andy is a top bloke and I have never heard any one experiencing any issues.

Yep, also heard good things about AWD and spoke with them a few times, although i've not been yet. It's a good drive to get there.

Yeah, you don't need to ask about Andy, top guy.
