Have read lots about you all talking about ABS and have used it to the full over the passed couple of days.
I have had many cars with ABS but this my first Sccoby seems quite loud when activated.
Is that normal ?

 

Loud in what way - the grinding noise???

 

Had to use the ABS in anger for the first time today after a sudden traffic build up on some dual carrigeway left me running out of room very quickly. It was a little noisy, but no different to any other ABS system I've heard. I know people complain that the standard brakes aren't brilliant, but f**k me it stopped quickly (and the bloke in the Fiat Uno in front was thanking his lucky stars )

I must admit, my MY00 ABS seems to make quite a grinding noise as well, rather than the machine-gun type thud on my last car (an MGF) - at least in the snow.

There also appears to be an electrical humm/buzz for a few seconds after releasing brake pressure - is this normal?

p.s. ABS plus snow equals no brakes!

 

ABS + snow = ABS is crap!!

 

ABS + Snow = weak point with _most_ abs systems.

 

ABS + snow = remove ABS fuse.
