Tell her to get a nice little french diesel hatch instead.. then she can at least console herself knowing she's got a really economical slow car...
Rather than just a slow car.
(starting stop watch to see how long it takes the Focus ST owners club to all register and vent their disgust at us )

I've got an ST and I'm a member on Focus ST Owners Club Your Type R will be quicker!
I wouldn't say the ST is 'slow' though, I think you'd be pleasantly surprised

an ST would have no chance with a standard type R sti, and after seeing your list of modifications on "view my scooby" you would probs win on half throttle.

Well the car I had previously was a mk1 focus...all it had done to it was spax springs and a decent set of tyres and it was absolutely amazing to drive. The focus has got to have one of the best fwd chassis around, it gives u alot of confidence and is very easy to drive.
Saying that I love my impreza...but factor in running costs etc and the focus would be a better all round car because despite the obvious loss in performance u can still have great fun in it.
I of course dont give a **** about running costs and want the pace and 4wd so subaru all the way!!

I have an sti type-r and my mate has a remaped ST mine is obviously faster off the mark, but if we play once rolling, he sticks with me
My Type-r is 310 bhp his is about 280 bhp
Remember all the transmission loss we get through 4 wheel drive.

I think the differences between mine and my sisters Focus will be slightly larger than that. The losses in a Type R arent as high as a normal set up either i dont think.
