P1 oil temp sensor fitting advice needed ergently!
#1
I know this should not be posted here but:-)
I was just wondering if anybody could help or advise me where the temp sensor should be placed. I am having the center guage pod installed tomorrow by my local subaru dealer, but they are not keen to fit the temp sensor on the sump plug!
Where else should one fit the temp sensor?
Any suggestions welcome,
Cheers

Have a look back in the 'Interior' forum - this has been asked before. Basically, there's a plug above No3 cylinder which can be removed with an Allen key and replaced with a standard oil pressure sender adaptor (on the block below the alternator) and the temp sensor should screw straight into that provided that the thread on the sensor is 1/8NPT - I have Defi's and it fitted fine.HTH.

Following on from fitting to the No 3 piston area.....
Would you advise against fitting the sender straight into the blanking plug? Would it be better to connect via a braided hose? I'm looking into this and some people warn about engine vibration damaging the sender if it is directly fitted
Cheers
