This accident happened about 400 yards up the road from my house. My Mrs drove this stretch of road within 10 minutes of the accident happening. Certainly makes you think how fragile life can be at times. My heart goes out to the family.

A woman from Kent was killed after her car collided with a tree in Bodiam.
The 26-year-old from Staplehurst, who has not been named by police, died when the green Subaru she was driving was involved in an accident with a falling tree.

The woman died as a result of her injuries at the scene.

The accident happened yesterday (Thursday) at 2.25pm on the B2244 south of Merriments Lane.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

A young child, who was also travelling in the car, was taken to hospital and kept in overnight for observation.
