Default ECU reset

As above is there any beneift in carrying out this
does it help to clear niggling issues up.
Just curious as seen it mentioned a few times for different problems people saying do an ecu reset.
also if there is could someone explain how to.
Is it those connector blocks the same as when you check for a fault code?
cheers guys

I think it simply reverts the map to standard ie. no 'learned' part of the map.

It also clears fault codes - but cannot fix niggling issues unless the ECU is in some way at fault and a reset cures it.

Connect black plugs and green plugs under dash. Switch on ignition, hold accelerator to the floor for 10 seconds or so, release it, start engine, drive about till the check engine light starts flasshing slowly. Believe its six long flashes then a pause... once done pull over disconnect the cables and drive easy for the next 100 or so miles

What niggling issues?

Yes 2 black and the 2 green for the reset

Don't forget to disconnect after the reset.

seenn it mentioned a few times for low boost and other probs.

Its just my car seems to be underpowered to what i would expect and doesnt really seem to put you in your seat so to speak.
It drives fine and it is not slow but it all seems gradual and no real kick to it.
It also seems to hesitate slightly at about 2300 revs just before boost.
Could this just possibly be plugs as its fully serviced and they are the only thing that i know have not been changed for a while.
Cheers

There is a way to activate/pulse the boost controller whilst spraying carb cleaner into it - apparently it ejects quite a lot of dirty old oil, so wrap well in kitchen towel.
