Toyo T1s's or T1r's ?
Pretty sure the "R" is for "reinforced" and relates to the sidewalls, which are stiffer as a result. Stiffer sidewalls means less flexing and a less "sloppy" feel to the steering.

S is slightly softer compound so can wear quicker.
R is stiffer side wall for better handling.

I put a set of the R's on my car in 2006, email the technical support at Toyo with the Wheel and Tyre sizes on my Classic Turbo and they sent me a reply to set the pressure as follows....Front 37psi and Rear 35psi.This may not be the same on your car, so I would recommend contacting Toyo Tech support to find the pressures you may need.
Did that and it made a hell of a lot of difference to the handling of the car. Very good Tyres........

I had T1-S's and T1-R's on my last car and i always had to overinflate them due to the soft sidewalls. The R's may well be reinforced but i 'personally' still think they need a little extra in them.
Fantastic choice though, ive just put the T1-R's on to replace the T1-S's that the last owner had on.

Yes,initally I thought the recommended pressures were high but after putting these pressures in the tyre the cars handling was transformed, the garage I got them from had put 32 PSI all round. Not sure the side walls on the T1R's are beefed up that much from the older Tyres, the newer Tyres have thick blocks on the outer edges on the tread pattern and that's it as far as I can see!
yes, F1's are very very good. I just like Toyo's
if your at the stage of replacing all 4 then either F1's or Toyos would be a good choice, if you just need front or rears and already have one or other on, then stick with the same make and up the model (so replacing T1-S's swop over to T1-R's).
I could have gone with F1's but as i only needed 2 new I upgraded to the R's on the scooby and will replace the rears with R's in a month or 2. This way im not mixing front and rear with too much of a change (not sure how it affects 4WD but with RWD in my old car, it was stoopid to mix front and rears with different makes).

My car had pirelli's on it when I got the car, replaced them due to wear n tear at MOT. Found the Toyo's better in the wet ( but this may have been due to the tread depth on the old pirelli's getting near the limit ).
Some people say that on fitting new tyre's to a permanent AWD car that all 4 should be done at the same time due to rolling radius of the tyre's being different front/rear and can cause winding up / stress's on the 4WD system. Don't know how much truth there is in this when considering Subaru AWD systems..........
Also I think Top Gear (Or was it 5th Gear?) did a test a few Year ago, tried new Tyre's on a 2WD car front and then rear. With them in one position the car pulled up OK in the wet in emergency breaking. In the other the car spun out!

The fullrun tyres I have at the moment are awfull in the wet and do not leave you with much confidence in the dry
I have a puncture in one of them and was going to replace it with something much better eg T1r's.
Can't afford to do each corner at the minute, but the other 3 have lots of tread left.
Anyone ever heard of fullruns?
