Thumbs down

Just a quick warning if you are buying bulbs or wiper blades for your Scoob. It seems that the charts that Halfords have about which bits you need are a little innaccurate.

I followed the charts in Halfords and got the wrong wiper blade and wrong numberplate bulbs for my MY99 Scoob.

Mind you, I now have the only scoob in the world with a halogen spotlight illuminating my number plate

At least a speed camera wouldn't pick up anything other than an over exposed picutre....

Not that I am insinuating you speed or anything...

No, never ever ever Well, maybe occassionally, but only on days with a 'Y' in their name

In my MY99 Sport the numberplate bulbs are the same as the sidelights - the ones that don't have a screw /bayonet fitting, but just push into place.

Bought some MX3 bulbs in Halfords the other day, as per their manuals. Got home and tried to fit them - completely wrong type. Took them back and guy checked the table, and then computer system. Everything matched up (and was obviously wrong) so I had to go and grab a bulb from the car headlamp.

His response - Oh the computer's got it wrong then. I asked if he would escalate to make sure it didn't happen to any other customers and he just grunted. Hmmm like anything's going to happen then!

Oh well I got the bulbs in the end but an apology for my wasted effort wouldn't have gone amiss.

...would that be expecting a level of service above rubbish from Halfords?

They opened a new one near me complete with a bike hut (upstairs)... when it first opened they were so busy they were handing the bikes over in boxes with a cheap steal toolkit (for free). The only thing is that it totally voids the warrenty if the bike is not built by the shop! That and two bikes came to the bikeshop I visit and sometimes work in and people had managed to get the forks the wrong way around!

Halfords... good screen wash!

They don't mind if you take things back though.

Bought some new wipers, they left a wet patch right at eye height, took them back a week later, two weeks after they were bought, got a replacement no problem. For sure they 'should' have no problem but I was surprised they were so happy. Second time I've done it too...

The taking things back is pretty good.
5 months after buying some front disks they warped in the warm weather. Took them back, refund no questions asked.

Just get a Cossie mate...and you can go to the local breakers yard for all your wiper blades/bulbs etc.
