Been looking for some new wheels and came across this site - they basically ship straight from Japan but have some sale prices on wheels like the Volk TE37 - 25% off!!

18" wheels with centre caps total price is coming in at under £1500!!! I am a bit wary though - it says Japanese sales taxes have been added to the final price but is there a catch. Surely there'd be some UK based import tax, VAT etc?

Anyone?

Newera parts say the final price on their website is to your door...

 

you'll pay uk tax and import duties, shouldn't need to pay the japan tax though

 

If you figure on adding about 20% to the price of the wheels and shipping then that is what the added VAT and handling come to.

Also, if they are coming from Japan they will probably be sent surface mail because of the weight, which can take up to a couple of months to arrive, and if there are any problems with them then you're basically stuffed as you would have to pay to send them back to Japan.
