Default Cossiekiller at the 'Ring

Came across this video again and put it on. I haven't watched it for years and had forgotten how absorbing it is - high speed driving with no annoying background music, just the flat 4 howling interrupted by occasional bleeps and outbursts of maniacal laughter It got me wondering about what happened to Stef - he was very high profile for a while and then just disappeared. Anybody know?

IIRC Stef still keeps a eye on scoobynet and has posted on here this year.

I think the last time I saw him was either at Castle combe or silverstone TRAX2003 ?? but memory of a goldfish

Seen that vid a couple of years ago, there is one bit when a porsche comes over a crest at what looks like quite fast, then a couple of seconds later His scoob comes over the crest at what looks like double the speed, amazing driving.

Cool

The full lap...

Cossiekiller in car at the Nurburgring

Am I right in thinking this is a fairly standard UK turbo?

The only original bit on Stef's car was the roof...and even that is questionable

Stef was on here a while back. He was part of a great shoot off in Revs magazine between Imprezas and Cosworths, with a mildly modded Turbo2000. If I remember correctly he clocked a mid 4s 0-60 and 145 top end. Still got the magazine somewhere, with pics of him powersliding the Impreza with smoke pouring off the tyres. There was also an STi5 in the test and a 22b, the pilots of which seemed quite dosile compared to Stef. ;-)

*edit....

Stef had a few gearboxes replaced under waranty, i wonder why?
He also had a piggyback chip fitted (cant remember if it was a unichip or superchip) and ran more boost than stock, around 1.2BAR if memory serves correctly.

LOL I think that was my second trip out there and I'm pretty sure it was Stefs first or second visit too. I'm sure that John F will confirm.

Ahhh, the good old days.

I'm fairly sure it was the 2nd trip we did Matt, Easter 2001. I'm certain the footage was from the monday as most of us at that point headed home, Stef stayed on for an extra day and got in a lot of laps on an empty track as a result. That's why at Wehrseifen there is a truck on the track installing a new barrier.
