Default When was scoobys first made

The reason i ask is i'm having trouble getting parts from motor factors etc because they say my car is not a J reg because they were never made that early.

It is an import he reckons it is a mistake by dvla but i'm unsure.

If so what do you reckon i should do.

Thank you

1993/94 and maybe even 95 imports surely should have the same parts. I'm 99.9% 93/94 are the same

Hope that helps

Very late 1992 is the earliest that you will find. The first production cars were delivered months after the 'J' prefix was replaced (November 1992).

Agree with that, November 92 is the earliest I have heard of. Makes it an earlyish K plate.

Mine is registered in June 1993 and I don't it's an import, well there are all imports but you know what I mean. Mine is on a JBZ plate (N'orn I'ron number plate system)

I've seen a J before.. but some of these are probably DVLA cockups.. Confirm the date with the applied model code

The Impreza range was launched in Japan on 22nd October 1992, then in the UK on 17th May 1993. But the Turbo didn't come to the UK until a year later.

So a K plate is the oldest you can get unless a private plate has been fitted.

If it was me, I wouldnt bother trying to get it changed. Mine is still registered as an Impreza GL after 5 years, like many other WRXs

Version 1 WRX was from late '92 to late '94, so yes ask for 93/94.

Wink

Just go by your Model code on your chassis Plate and will give you "Model Year" MY94

Nov.92-Sep.93 MY93

GC8A48D 240 WRX 4 door First Impreza Turbo
GC8A47D 240 WRX RA 4 door

Aug.94 MY94

GC8B48D 240 WRX 4 door
GC8B47D 240 WRX RA 4 door
GC8B48D 250 WRX STi 4 door First appearance of STi, modified from production WRX
GF8B58D 220 WRX 5 door First appearance of 5 door
GF8B58D 220 WRX SA 5 door Auto transmission fitted after production
GF8B58D 250 WRX STi 5 door As per WRX STi 4 door, modified from production vehicle

Sep.94-Aug.95 MY95

GC8C48D 260 WRX 4 door
GC8C47D 260 WRX RA 4 door
GC8C47D 275 WRX RA STi 4 door Modified from production WRX
GF8C58D 220 WRX 5 door

all of the code tells you what the car really is
eg.

GC8A48D =
GC= saloon 8 = engine turbo A= MY93 4= Number doors 8 model type WRX D= 5speed Transmission

GC8D48D = MY97 WRX 4 door
GC= saloon 8 = engine turbo D= MY96 4= Number doors 8 model type WRX D= 5speed Transmission

GF8C58D = MY95 WRX 5 door
GF= wagon 8 = engine turbo D= MY95 5= Number doors 8 model type WRX D= 5speed Transmission

Tony

Why motor factors? Is there no where local to that specialises? Save a load of hassle, if not most will deliver too.

Don't know where you're from but IMO motor factors/halfrauds are sh1te for Subaru parts.

The world is your oyster, to coin a phrase, for suppliers who will actually know what you're asking about.

when buying parts, just say its a 93 plate as it just seems like a DVLA **** up like mentioned earlier, then u dont have to get the hassle with factors saying they got no info for that year
