BuRR,

I had one of the original ones with the connection problem. I have now got it back with the software upgrade. I plugged it all in and downloaded the database with no problems and took it out for a test drive past the only GATSO close to where I live. It does exactly what it says on the tin, No problems!

It displays current speed and direction all the time. When it gets to within 600m of a camera site it beeps and a voice alert states 'GATSO'. The red LEDs start flashing and the screen displays the type of camera, speed limit, your current speed, distance to camera and an arrow points to the direction of the camera. The road number the camera is on is also displayed.
As you get closer to the camera the LEDs flash quicker and the beeps get faster. The distance also counts down. Upon passing the camera by a few feet the alarm cancelled. As an initial quick test I am very pleased.

I have yet to install it properly and give it a go on a long journey but it definately works. Just have to hope the database is as comprehensive as for the Geodesey. Time will tell on this one I expect.

Hope this helps....

Sean

Do you have any photos of the screen in operation?

No, sorry I don't have any photos of my own.

The photo on the top right of the www.originbluei.com homepage is an accurate picture of the screen display during the alarm phase. There are also pictures on www.networxautomotive.com of the screen during the download and setup modes.

Mine works OK. Detects all my local gatsos. It is very configurable. I have not been a long distance yet.

The power connector is a bit flimsy, and can fall out. It is also quite bulky.
