What is the ultimate Hawkeye Impreza?
Guys,
I'm looking into purchasing a Hawkeye in the new year. But I don't want to go the modified route again (yeah, like that will last) so I want to get the best there is striaght off.
What is the ulitmate model in the Hawkeye range?
I've heard of things like a W1, or STI Typre RRA but I really have no idea.

It depends what you want from the the car, how it's going to be used etc. If you want a track warrior that gets little road use, then something like the Spec-C would be best. Partially stripped out, manic gearing, trick suspension bits etc. Not as ideal for an everyday commuting car as the others in the range.
If you are going to be doing 99% road use, then I'd suggest the Spec D
Limited edition of only 300. Discreet (low level spoiler, de-badged), silver alloys, leather, sat nav, bluetooth stereo etc.
Importantly it's just as fast as the other 2.5 STi models, but it's not got the same "in your face" colour and styling if you don't want to stand out from the crowd.

RB320 is the best UK Hawkeye. It's better than the WR1 blobeye for me too, as it comes in a male colour.
The S204 for me if you go JDM. If you are looking for a track car then the RA-R or the type 25. All of these are the wrong side of £30k though.
Spec D is the next best UK road focused Impreza IMHO and the right side of £20k. Put the PPP on it and it is even better.

Let's face it the RB320 is mean as **** and comes better equipped... if you can afford it then it's a no brainer... unless as I said you want an "extreme" Impreza.

Although I've never driven a hawkeye Type 25 it surely must be the ultimate version that you could go into a showroom and buy (if you can find one).

Its a model they introduced in the US, as a limited edition to mark the end of the hawkeye production.
2007 Subaru WRX STI Limited
Subaru Impreza WRX STI Limited - RSportsCars.com
They did 25 for the UK.
As per a Spec D, the STI Limited is mechanically identical to the standard STI.
I love the looks of my Limited, and its now nicely tuned, but for an off the shelf model, id go for an S204, or an RA-R.
A Type 25 is the ultimate, but its not an official Subaru model of course.

And my statement addressed his requirements
Jiffs original post also mentioned not wanting anything modified. As solid and professional a job as Litchfield / Powerstation might do (Ive trusted them to do all the work on my last 2 imprezas), and despite the warranty provided, the Type 25 is still undoubtedly a heavily modified impreza...
Still, I'd go with the Type 25 without a blink, if I could justify the cost.

I'm after a fast road car, that may once or twice a year see the track. I don't want anything striped bare, and it must have all the creature comforts of air con, eletric this and that etc...
At the moment it sounds like a spec D with a bit of body mods to make it more in your face, and there was me saying a would modify it. Not even bought the car and I'm planning the mods.
I do like the sound of the Type 25 400+bhp. What other models come close to that sort of power as standard?

And you do realise the D stands for discreet?
