Anyone know the answer to this?

During the last couple of weeks, there has been a white van parked randomly in the lay-bys on the A5 in Milton Keynes, just north of the Stacey Bushes exit.

It has a light on inside and blue plastic sheeting hanging up in the windows. Also, what looks like some sort of camera in the back window!!

Could it be these mobile cameras we've been hearing about?

Regards
Kurt

I'll check it out.

I don't usually go up that far, I turn of at Stacey Bushes (KFC).

Hope not - I might have a ticket in that case after last night. Filled up on SUL in the Esso garage before Christmas shopping. I am sure the car felt quicker, probably my imagination.

If it's a camera jobbie, isn't it going to need raod markings to gauge distance or does have a radar/laser as well ?
If so I'll run by with my Speedtrap detector running.

i was cought by a unmarked polic car just outside milton keynes, in great billington
it was a blue mondaeo estate, with a small camera sitting on the dash, it had a couple of rumble strips a few yards ahead of it, the car was only there for a few hours, if there were no rumble strips, so perhaps its not a police car

Got overtaken by a dark blue/purple Omega recently. The policeman in the front passenger seat had the seat right back and was sitting as low as he could, to make the car look like there was only one driver. Don't recall any other sneaky aerials either. Good thing I was behaving!

The new digital cameras only need small white dot markings on the road to read the distance, they are painted by the curbs. The computer then draws the lines and measures the distance then sends the ticket. Very efficient. These were shown on midlands tv. These new cameras are cunningly hidden behind traffic lights and road side signs. They look like baby gatsos and very difficult to spot. Be warned trialing in the Birmingham area.

Track days are rapidly becoming the only safe way to utilise our cars. Lot more fun on track though.

happy hunting

Needless to say, I take it easy up that stretch of road these days.

Have not seen any white dots etc. though.
