Mileage Discrepancy???
Went to have my car valuated at a dealer so they did a HPI check on my car but a mileage discrepancy was flagged up.
after further examination of the car he came back saying the mileage looks to high for the condition of the body work (stupid. i know )
is it possible to get this corrected so it does not come up again during a HPI check?

think your better off doing hpi yourself as do history checks on alsorts every day and it wouldnt say that , think you will probably find its dealer trying it on as usual , and if there is a mileage discrepancy no it cannot be corrected for obvious reasons

The discrepancy could have come about by someone writing an incorrect mileage in the v5 document when they bought or sold the car on. Or the person at dvla doing all the inputting could have typed the wrong mileage in by mistake.
There could be many reasons but my first port of call would be the dvla

First ring the NMR on 01722432385 and explain the situation then as said above do a VDC on your car with hpi it will say who has the discrepancy then fax proof of your mileage e.g service book to hpi they will investigate and should correct the mistake.

I've seen this happen before...
Someone takes a car to a dealer and the dealer HPi's it to value it, when asked mileage they don't know exactly so they say eg 65000 when its done eg 64520. The owner then takes it to another garage a few days later and this time the dealer gives the correct miles which are now say 65650 then a discrepency arises. Nothing to do with the car or the owner and detrimental to the value of the car. Its not an ideal situation that mileage check system.
