I would like to ask scoobynet members their opinion.

I took my WRX which had a running problem for a "quote" to a well known reputable Scooby expert.

I had booked the car in on the Monday for the Friday and dropped it off on the Thursday. When I rang to see how it had gone Friday afternoon, nothing had been done.

To cut a long story short I contacted the garage on the Monday who said that they had fixed the problem.

They had replaced the coil packs, reset the ECU etc etc to the tune of 386pounds without consulting me!!

Has this happened to anyone else and how do I stand? I explicitly told them to contact me before doing anything other than diagnosing the running problem.

Wow.... you didnt ask for the work to be done or agree to it so you dont really have to pay... but the alternative is probably they would strip your car of the new parts and leave it in a worse state than it was before....


Seems a few 'well known' scooby specialists are not that special at the moment..

Mine only goes to one place and thats because I trust him... with my life and my car lol... as last time we had a track day he took me out for a spin
