The market for these cars is crap at the moment, so haggle hard and be prepared to walk away if you don't get the price you want. There's plenty to choose from, but there's also a lot of crap. Get involved with your local club if there is one near you, you'll find everyone is very friendly and helpful and they will have a raft of knowlege and experience to point you where (and where not) to find the best cars and deals. Don't be afraid of looking in the For Sale section on here. Enthusiasts cherish their cars, and you have the benefit of being able to view the sellers previous posts to check some background out. Spend a bit of time finding out which mods are worth having, and don't be scared of an already mod'd car. The owner may well have spent a fortune on it, but will get little or none of that back come sale time, saving you a decent wedge if you choose. Get familiar with the 'search' tool (you may need to upgrade your membership) to research people, dealers or whatever, or just ask away as people on this forum aren't like many others where they mutter and grumble if someone asks a repeated question (unless you think it would be clever to post pics of a Scoob sinking in a lake or a quad made from an STi ).

Happy hunting, and welcome to SNet
