Question Prodrive Exhaust - STI04

I managed to get hold of a second hand prodrive backbox exhaust for a STI04. Before i get it fitted and declare it to the insurance company, just wanted some questions answered.

1. Is the exhaust simply a stainless steel exhaust or a performance exhaust?

2. What BHP increase does it give?

These are the questions my insurance company wanted to know.

Any help appreciated.

Charlie Boy

1. The rear silencer is stainless steel and it does increase performance

2. 8-10hp on an otherwise std car, pretty much the same as any other unrestrictive rear silencer.

I don't doubt the 8-10 bhp difference from std, although when Andy F remapped my car he reckoned a less restrictive backbox would have given up to 10 bhp more than the Prodrive exhaust.

Anyway, this exhaust is really about giving a nice subtle burble.

Also the insurance company will be interested in what the manufacturers 'claim' the power increase to be.

I would love to see the power increase tested and to know how it is achieved, as the Std STi back box is already very good.
