Default I've read 08 STI to be 400BHP with prodrive , but how ??

As above , I've read that the new STI for 08 will be available with 400bhp with the Prodrive pack , how do you reckon they will manage this against the current 320 bhp?

By charging a shed load of cash !!

I'd heard that there's a possibility of two PPP versions, one giving 320-330, equivalent to the current version, the other giving 400.

We'll have to wait and see

It must become a difficult balance between performance and reliability for them around the 400bhp mark

So if it's to go by current PPP ratings, then you'll pay for 400, but get closer to 370.

Fair play if it is though.

I'm happy to be proved wrong on this but....

Given the challenges of the stock 2.5lt internal bits, it highly unlikely to be anywhere close to 400hp, unless the PPP makeover includes uprated Pistons etc

If you think about the Cosworth engine mods required for 415hp in the new T25, then if PPP is 400hp the cost would be huge

It would need a bigger turbo to get there as well.

Shouldn't be too hard for prodrive to be honest. Lots of people running a reliable 400bhp or thereabouts with packages from different companies/a specification of their own making these days. The new sti might well already come with uprated pistons, does anyone else know? The question is, can they produce it at a price that competes with the equivalent EVO? (not something the T25 had to worry about)

The Type 25 may produce 415bhp, but I've been told by several sources that the build is somewhat overkill for that, and there is significant potential in its specification for *ahem* more power

I've heard same 2 PPP versions rumour but we haven't got the car in the UK yet

I recieved some overseas Emails after the Japanese STi Launch. Both saying the "heavly" Revised STi 2.0ltr and 2.5ltrs engines have a huge reliable potential.

Basically with the new twincroll turbo, new inlets headers, quad VVT, new pistons and new ECU they are both capable of 400bhp (although the UK cast un-equal length exhaust header may lower the 2.5ltr to 380bhp, maynot)

Initial estimates are with absolutely no mechanical Mods at all and a Custom remap both JDM and UK cars will make about 350 bhp. so Theres the one PPP just a "Custom" Remap

But as said time will tell, might just be hype and spin but My MY06 JDM made 329bhp with just a Remap so not impossible IMHO

There were big BHP PPP hopes for the Hawkeye 2.5 IIRC which never made it beyond the hype. Makes a good headline none the less.

Actually 400kw is 536bhp.

Seems entirely possible to me
