Default Powerstation :)

Went to Powerstation yesterday to have the suspension sorted.
Ended up staying at a local hotel and spending today there also...

4WLA
ARBs
AST Coilovers
Pagid black pads all round

Panel Filter
Milltek 3" system with sports cat
Remap

Got 345 bhp / 460 Nm on the rollers, with a completely flat power line from peak at 5400 to redline.
Torque peaks at just over 4000 and stays right up there 'til around 5500.

The difference in driveability is incredible, and the delivery is really smooth.

The ASTs are quite simply stunning; gone is the sense of nervousness that was associated with the standard set up. It feels solid, compliant, and totally planted at all times - gives you so much more confidence in the car.

Thanks to Dirk, Rich, Curtis, Andy and all at Powerstation for all the help, and transforming the car

Hats off.

Ben

345bhp / 339FtLbs / 460Nm

In the real world you probably have more torque than has been shown on the rollers. I know mine didn't make full boost on a recent run, amongst other operational issues

Interesting (in a good way) regarding restriction issues, that with the 3" system the BHP isn't far off mine 335BHP / 375FtLbs / 508Nm (Road Dyno) and 335BHP / 344 FtLbs / 466Nm (Rolling Road Dyno), running a 2.5" H&S system with STi standard BB.

Lovely car, and I bet it handles a treat with the AST's

How much did these modifications cost you?

Thanks for the link just wondered what it cost you for everything. Just idle curiosity as I don't have an Impreza and wondered what sort of performance you can get for relatively little cash.

12-3K on a new age Impreza plus your modification costs has to offer great VFM assuming they were under 4K.

comfortably under 4k in total

bear in mind that my starting point for the power upgrades was a 2.5l unit.

For a 2.0l block youd probably be looking at approximately 320bhp with a conservative map.

The handling package of course offers identical benefits regardless of the age of the car

Sound to me like you've got a great car for a relatively minor outlay.

thats one of the reasons that i love imprezas...

unfortunately from this point on, power upgrades carry signficantly greater cost for diminishing returns.

More power probably isn't needed unless you're interested in striaght line sprints which I personally find pretty boring.
Greater stopping power and more driver training is the route I'd take to extracting more performance from the car.

couldnt agree more - in the context of power, i was just responding to your point regarding value for money.

Still, brakewise the next step for me would be the porsche brake kit, which is fairly expensive.

Sounds good. What Impreza do you have just out of interest?

Thinking to go to Powerstation for one of the Ecutek remap packages on my hawkeye.
Do they map it themselves or get a third party mapper to do it?

Not sure how long it'll take but don't fancy staying in a hotel, so hopefully drop the car off and train it back to London lol

if just a remap, it should only take 1-2 hours

Exhaust, pump and remap 5 hours ish

book it in for opening time, mid afternoon should be on your way home...... grinning

Although some Places do offer Curtousy cars, just in case things don't work out

The spec of that car is perfect. Maybe upgrade brakes when discs get worn is all I would do.
As a bonus, you won't get pulled every two minutes or p1ss your neighbours off either!
