New STI - Anyone getting one?
#3
Ive already got one ugly looking wheelie bin parked outside the house, why do i need another ?
It will only confuse the council when they come to empty the bins, i have visions of them lifting up the new Sti and shaking it on the back of the wagon to see if any rubbish falls out.

Swap to the darkside or keep what you have.
FQ360 totally awsome, just cant afford one.
I wouldn't buy another Scooby, as am not going to let IM loose me any more money. I have bought 2 and within 6 months in come the offers & shaft the resale.
At least MMC hold the price & offer free servicing or something. Keeping the second hand value up. Not F**king halfing it.
Mitsubishi-Motors/Special Offers - Lancer Evolution IX
Proves my point!!
Just wait til the new STi is out, then see prices tumble.

Unlike most I'm willing to actually see one in the Flesh ( not pictures on the Internet) before I flame it
I bought my Scoobs because of handling not because of looks
EVO said they didn't like it !!!! TBH I'm more likely to buy a STi than an EVO mag

Not even considering it.
I never got on with Subaru, and in recent years their image problems and also being the main target of crims means I am very unlikely to ever buy another as my day to day car.
Shame because a well sorted scooby down a nice B road is something that really can be a lot of fun.
Maybe as a weekend car - maybe. But if I was to spend the best part of 30k on a weekend road car then I would be looking at 911 / 348 etc.

The thing I do like is the hatchback shape.
I could never have a saloon (need space for bikes/surfboards/dog) but the old STi only came in that form.
Seems a lot of car for the money and I may have to judge the interior for myself (mags say it's dire).

Just got myself the last great STi that Subaru made, the Hawkeye.
Won't be staying with Subaru after this one as they have completely ruined the car!
I'll be looking at something like one of these:
Nissan : 650BHP WideBody R32 GTR (Big Single Turbo + 4WD)
Nissan : R34 GTR 550bhp

my hawkeye will also be my last scoob, unless they sack the design team and do it soon, and redesign the car to look like it goes, not some sh1te mazda/focus hybrid, totally ruined the brand imo, it is constantly slated by testers, and whatever they pitch it against, it comes out second best, very disappointed and saddened.

I have a my05 sti and will be the last unless I go for a slightly newer hawkeye. The hatch is utterly ugly and is simply not an impreza in my eyes. Test drove the wrx and was not impressed at all. If they don't go back to saloon types, I'm going to go to the competition

I have a sneaking suspicion, you'll be a very happy bunny, especially if rumours of a 400bhp PPP conversion hold any water!!
Apart from the horrid rear lights, I'm even warming to its looks!

Don't think I'll be buying another Subaru either. Lost too much money on mine. Don't mind losing money on a car, but Subaru's take the p1ss.
Probably an Audi next.

This is the prices i've been told
EU Car wharehouse import Top spec £24,995 OTR comfirmed
EU/UK imported Top spec £26,995 OTR un-comfirmed
JDM import Top spec £26,995 OTR un-comfirmed
UK Dealer Top spec £28,995 OTR un-comfirmed
UK Dealer Top spec £29,995 OTR un-comfirmed
UK Dealer standard Spec £26,995 (but dealers to push Top spec versions first) OTR un-comfirmed
http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?a...e=post&id=1037
Here is a translated German EU spec to give a rough Idea of difference between Top spec and standard spec Car
IMHO

So £27k for a standard STi then. I just can't believe anyone would part with that sort of money for that car, knowing that it will be worth about £15 if they're lucky in a couple of years, when they facelift it, which they are going to have to.

I`m positive that T5NYW is on a bonus scheme to defend this 2008 new wheelie bin that we are getting, he is like the taliban army when someone attacks it and ive even had to duck a few of his home made mortar attacks myself.

But there is £4K difference between "Car Wharehouse" prices and Top spec UK's
I can see the potential of the Car, I have Driven the S-Gt and in lots of way much better than my MY06 version, althought I will wait to see and drive the STi before empting my wallet

I've just been looking at a picture of the WRX on Subaru's website and I can honestly say there isn't one thing I like about it.
Where can you start? Horrid little spotlights, plasticy american grill, nasty wheels, even the bonnet scoop looks wrong, lexus lights as standard and what a horrible shape they are too, as is the whole back end to be honest, interior looks worse than my classic, the side view looks all out of proportion like some weird slightly long Focus.
The whole thing is just a styling disaster, it's hard to imagine how it could have looked any worse.
OK the STi will look better, but it's still one fugly lump!
