P1 vs New scooby
#1
The new scooby has been covered a few times, but any:
Since seeing the new scooby in pictures and on TV, I have hated it. It looked like a Toyota. But today I saw it in my local dealers show room next to a P1.
Well! I would have choosen the new Scooby over the P1 (and I am a big fan of the P1).
It looks totally different in real life, so to everyone else, please go look at the new shape before saying anything about it.
It made the old shape look...well....old.
Even the dealers didn't like it from the photos, but liked it when they saw it. Can't wait for the Prodrive version.
Its not all good though, nasty grill and the ride height seems a bit high.

I've seen 'em both in the flesh too - and I still prefer my P1. Still haven't actually driven the new one yet - but I can't really be bothered to set up a test drive - I know I'm not going to be replacing my current drive any time soon...

I have driven both the old and new impreza.
Found that the old one (RB5) seemed to have a lot more poke.....this may have been due to me only being able to take the MY01 to 4000 rpm......even though it is looking a bite old now i still went for a MY00 instead of the new one.
Another factor might have been the 2K i saved plus an exhuast thrown in free

I was at the dealers yesterday and they had the following in the show room:
1 x MY01 turbo saloon SOLD
1 x MY01 turbo wagon SOLD
1 x P1 still priced at £31500!!!
The new car does look better in the flesh, however, I'd still go for the P1 at present, but new wagon was damn high, mind you it was next to the P1! Having said that I'd like to drive a MY01 or 02 STI wagon.........

I seem to remember a similar situation with the old M3 (left hooker) when they introduced the new streamlined 3-series.
Only time will tell but rhe M3 is now a classic and highly sort after.
