Who would trade a Scoob in for a Kia

I had my cambelt done this year, including MOT. I think it was just short of £400.

Cambelt is at 50k

I believe 40k is a smaller service?

The 60k I had at the beginning of the year was just over £400 with SIDC discount at my local dealers; and I believe that the 30k and 60k are the 2nd most expensive services.

I know that the guy who had mine paid £1800 when he had the 50k service - but that did include genuine brembo discs and pads all round.

I think I will be replacing those myself...

My car is low mileage, but I had the cambelt done under advice from my specialist.

I didn`t want to take the gamble & risk serious damage, so I had it done.

After all he is one of the top Subaru Mechanics in the country, so he knows his stuff.

It may snap, it might not. Do you want to take the chance?

Performance Friction are better and cheaper than genuine Subaru parts....

What B.E.P. is trying to say is that we locals use RE Motorsport at Elvington near York....

50k miles or 60 months. Taken right out of the Servicing and Warranties book.

So it needs the same as a 50k mile service now anyhow really, just because of age.

What is the last stamp in your servicing book?

I had a WRX bugeye and I can confirm that the cam belt is done on the 50k service.

Approx prices:

30k = £350
40k = £150
50k = £350
60k = £450

Wolfie.
