Default ebay collant kits... any good?

just been mooching the bay for scooby parts, and came across these...

Find Coolant Hose Kit Blue Subaru Impreza WRX STI 96-00 on eBay within, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 21-Nov-07 10:38:09 GMT)

just looking to tidy up my engine bay on my99 uk turbo. for an 8 piece set, £50 seems good, but has anyone had any experiences with these? few kits floating about from the uk (not tiawan etc ). now i know samco are that daddies, but for a pretty standardish car, would these be ok, or just fall apart? really considering getting a kit thats all.

the feedback seems promising too. to confirm, would these fit my scoob? easy fitting...

The Autobahn88 hose kit is ok. I put a red hose kit on 6 months ago.
I paid £90 for the kit from Flat4.

The quality is good, looks the same as Samco's imo. £50 for a full set is a good price. Your lucky to get 2 samco hoses for that price.

The Autobahn88 kit is pretty good, not QUITE Samco, but a decent economical substitute and for that price you can't go wrong

Not got them myself, think Sandmurk from HJC may have them but can't remember if he got the Autobahn88 or Samco kit now I'm just raiding my piggy bank to see if I've got £50 to get some
A mate had them on his Scoob and they did the job for the year or so he had it one before parting with the car.

Happens to me all the time mate, one moment im sitting at my desk in work talking to the misses, next thing is my credit card falls out off my wallet and orders some parts

Would recommend some nw clips as your existing ones may be a bit nackered when you remove them.. When i did mine i found some of the smaller clips were very very tight on the new hoses and difficult to get on as the hoses were thicker than the ones i removed.

I fitted some samco hoses.. probably took two hours.. 10 mins for the big ones and the rest were fiddly little bar stuards!

Shame they don't do these in red or yellow or I would have snapped em up. The seller has some other goodies, might go for the turbo hose kit

You might want to wait and see how much of a mess I make of mine before letting me loose on your car

well went to go see my mate today to get my gearbox oil changed, and asked him to replace the hoses.

only thing is we figured out where 6 went but not these two lol...

anyone any ideas what these two pieces are called, or where they go?

heres some pics of the other 6 parts fitted. not earth shattering i know, but a start none the less.

bottom rad hose...

didnt know where this bit went either, so cut it in two and used it here (assuming thats right - fits perfect)

for £50 they werent bad, but the top radiator hose wasnt the best fit, and all the hoses needed trimming a bit to fit smoothly, but better too much than not enough.

ideas on the spare bits???

Had a go at fitting mine today too. Got the three from the header tank on before snapping a bolt, closely followed by breaking a screwdriver doing one of the clips up, so I gave up for the day

The spares you have; I have a couple of suspects on mine, but I can't see them on your pics. On my engine there's 2 hoses coming off the induction kit, after the MAF, which seem to be the same shape and (roughly) the same size - like yours, a bit of trimming was needed. I know Sandmurk (who has the Autobahn88 kit too) had one of those pieces left over too, but I'm not sure where he fitted the other; the short straight piece.... all very helpful I know Short version is, I don't know They may not fit your engine at all.

I've spent most of the day trying to work out where that long, straight, thin one went too

Top job, matey, looks good

the long thin piece didnt really have a "home" so it was chopped in two and used as a vacuum piece, underneath the maf to the side of the air box.

received mine yesterday

those two pieces come in the samco kit as well,so if i paid samco prices & couldn't find a home for them i wouldn't be a happy chappy.

if you want to bling it up a little more buy some silicone hose for the vacuum lines. very cheap on ebay
