Default Police Scooby + Evo

Saw a Hawk-Eye Sti police car followed by a Evo 260 then a Mondeo220 then a good old transit.

Had a thought, do you wave to police in Scoobys (they didn't give the wave). God knows waht they were after. This was in Colchester by the way.

Cool, knew I should have waved, even if I got none back, surley they must know about the close-knit club the scooby drives have.

This scooby looked pretty nice, with all the lights on and reflective gear, it was a WR Blue one.

Are they tuned more than the PPP will give I wonder?

Thats scary, espescially if your not from the area and happen to be in town, best undercover car round here is red, g reg audi quattro, with 15" splitrims on it(oem i think), they use it to catch boy racers!

best unmarked cars I've seen in essex are a Citreon Piccaso and a Range Rover; the Rangy had plain clothes armed cops too

There are loads of Evo and Scooby cop cars in South Yorkshire too.
The evo's look like 260's... but there not. There actually 340's that have had all the lairy spoilers removed to look abit more discreet

The Police tend to worry more about upgrading brakes than tuning engines, ulimately it makes them able to catch and stay with most cars on the road.

Yup agree. Had a police omega for 9 months. It was a standard engine (3.0 v6) but compared to the civy spec it was much quicker. Main reasons

Uprated brakes
Uprated Suspension (stiffer for load lugging and curb hopping)
No toys / Lighter
LSD

It used to be great fun chucking that thing about, big car but it moved well!

Evo 340's seems strange that they would change the spoiler for the smaller one, why don't they do that for the scoobys I wonder then, swop them for WRX ones. I would have thought it better to let people know they are the in quickest cars possible, so if they are 340's keep the larger spoiler. probably have a combination of all models

Its a pretty good endorsement for the Impreza though when you see how many police forces use them as their pursuit cars now - must admit that with a good trained and experienced police driver ( some of these guys are ridiculously quick ) in a 300+ bhp car with 4 wheel drive there isnt much thats going to get away.
