letting the wife drive
i know this sounds bad, not long had my my01 wrx and i cant get enough of it, as i do a bit of rock climbing and hike mountains i am looking forward to some long drives, london to cumbria, wales etc, also use it every day.
problem, my wife paid half towards it and although she is a good driver, how come when she wants on the odd occasion to drive, i hyperventillate, get the shakes, think of excuses like sorry darling your wearing the wrong shoes etc.
im bloody 41 for christ sakes am i the only 1 lol
going to brighton tomorrow and were already arguing over who is designated driver, certainly helps stop me drinking though.

We've gone down from 2 to 1 car so the wife drive the Impreza, I was very worried to start with but I'm pretty cool with it now. Its just when it gets parked in super market car parks and curb side

Makes me smile, first time she drove it was on a return trip to Fort William. I'd manfully driven through Rannoch Moor, around Loch Lomond and then onto Glasgow.
I feel a bit tired and ask if she would drive. I hadn't thought about her 'foot to the floor' aproach in the 1.0 4-speed Polo. She hits the limiter in 3rd down the slip-road and settles into a 90 mph cruise.
Didn't really get much sleep and changed driver before Carlisle!

We have 2 cars, mine was bought as a weekend car. Hers probably hasn't moved more than a 1000 miles in the last year. Mine has done 11000. I am at work most days, and only tend to drive it at weekends or in the evening. I have a feeling she drives it!
I did get worried when she asked what the red light on the dash and the beeping noise means.........don't worry dear it is a rev limiter, just change up (lucky I have it set at 6000rpm!)

Dont really mind her driving mine - except when I fill it up with petrol, and get it back a few days later with the fuel warning light on - only downside is when she takes it out on her own somewhere.
She had to go and pick up some furniture a while ago, and the shop got the 17 year old monkey assistant to carry it to the car for her. Apparently he nearly wet himself when she walked over to it
I'm sure she spends half her time out in it posing for the young lads though

My wife first drive was in my old Nissan GTIR. It had a 3 paddle clutch so not easy to drive and she managed pretty well.
Clutch didn't last long but hey they never do in them little buggers. Looked very odd with L plates on it. We used magnetic ones so it wouldn't damage the paint but when I was driving I forgot about them so when I put my foot down this little white square went flying over the roof
I'm happy for mine to drive whatever cars I have. I've even taught her a little heel n toe!

You blokes, honestly!
My hubby bought me a scooby all of my own for our anniversary prezzie, had it for over a year and have never kerbed or scuffed a wheel yet, still perfect.. You get good and bad with both sexes of drivers.. but that's a whole new topic. It's me that gets it all dirty and he washes it for me, I do help though, I hold the hose and point out the bits he's missed.
