My car has just started playing up on me. It seems that when I have the throttle more than a 1/4 open with the revs about 2.8/3K the engine cuts as if the boost cut is coming in, or the fuel pump is cutting out.

The car drives fine as long as I don't give it more than 1/4 throttle.

I have had it up to 80/90 in 5th like this but if I put my foot down @ say 30 in 5th the problem is back and the car lurches forward and back until you t=let off.

Has anyone had this problem before and could you please advise me.

My mates van does this and its the diesel pump that knackered, so if i'm right, it could be the petrol pump.

hi m8 my car is doing similar and has been for a while, progressivly getting worse, mine is fine when i first start the car and starts doing as you described after a short while, i have replaced the MAF sensor just today as recomended but the situation is just the same, i have noticed that the hotter the engine gets i.e the longer its been driven the worse it gets, let me know how you get on and il keep you updated, i am looking at replacing the coolant sensor next

forgot to say, i too thought it might have been teh fuel pump so fitted an walbro on sunday, this improved start up etc, but still getting the same problems
