New battery- any type of ampage etc ??

Look at the capacity: And buy as big as you can get to fit the tray.
Ah = Amp hours...that's how many amps it can constantly deliver in one hour before it goes flat
CCA = Cold Cranking Amps...thats the peak output for short durations..when cold (obviously)
DIN = similar to above, just slightly different test prodeedures.
The higher the better. As long as its above the stock battery ratings (can't quout specs...as they differer between Impreza Models and intended market)
For cars that are left standing for long periords go for a bettery that has a higher Ah rating.
