Exhaust change?
I'm looking at changing the standard exhaust on my blobeye for a Vortex but was wondering if i just need the backbox?
Does changing the centre pipe make any difference to the sound from the rear as i don't want it too loud inside the car just the outside.

Just the backbox is sufficient.
If you are planning on other mods ie, remap etc then the centre is advisable also. You can get a centre pipe with or without a resonator(silencer) the latter will be a little noisier.
You are best going to a Subaru meet to hear other exhaust so you dont get an exhaust you may later regret.

I've changed the standard 'zorst on my '99 Classic to a Scoobysport stainless centre section (getting rid of the pointless second cat) and Scoobysport backbox. Delight with the result- noticably quicker, particulary at higher speeds in top gear. Backseat passengers report that it's a bit loud, but it's really not 'loud' - radio station of choice on my commute is R4, and I still hear John Humphries clear as a bell on my standard stereo.
on my last scoob i had a TSL firestorm centre and backbox which sounded loud
on a classic a few years ago i had a turbo back magnex which was loud but i prefer a jap style
I guess i'll go for a Vortex rear and maybe change the centre if it's not loud enough?
thanks
