Pay a little more for a proper billet one rather than pay £150 to have yours machined imho.

Having it machined is the cheapest option which will suit many, but for another £100 you can have one is made of billet steel rather than cast iron, you can choose the weight you desire and its non-exchange.

Just my personal view

You only NEED a billet one, if you run a ceramic clutch. A lightened and balanced original is all that is required when you go organic. So by buying steel billet you would be paying for something that you don't need and aren't actually making best use of.

Fine, if that is what you want - you cannot beat the best and a steel billet one is that. In most cases a lightened cast one is adequate. AND cheap.

Most people change the flywheel, not to change the flywheel material but to reduce the fly weight.

Lightening the cast one is limited to only taking it down to 7-8kgs or it just gets too weak. By choosing an aftermarket one you have a much wider range of weight options.

what would be best for my needs, faster spool up is very much welcome., my clutch that i have is in the pics above.

like everyone, i dont want to spend more than i have to.

i do a few 1/4miles each year. most of the time i use my car for going to the shops and back.

setting off i dont think will be a problem, as from what i have read, illget use to it very quickly.

so i am looking for a flywheel, that i can use dor normal driving, give me a good responce in engine reving, and the odd 1/4mile every now and then. and i dont want it to be mega £££ as it is going to cost me £200 to get my clutch fitted

most of the time when i have fun in my car is in 2nd and 3rd gears.

thanks
ian

The lower you go in weight the more you will notice the difference.
