Default INDUCTION KITS

I was just wondering what the best induction kit would be to put on my 1997 wrx import, and also would it be better to put a new maf sensor on at the same time

Wink

A decent panel filter is better than an induction kit.

A tad narrow-minded

If you are running a non standard car that is running a nice bit of power and has been remapped then that statement is just plain wrong .

You do need to look at remapping ideally if you go changing to a large volume induction kit, bigger exhaust, decat etc etc. The imps do adjust fairly well as standard but the imports already come over preset for top grade fuel by UK standards .

I ran an uprated panel on my original scoob quite happily, the last 2 have had induction kits. You can't go wrong with K&N kits imo but again think first.

If you have the old style MAF (can't remember which one on that year) then they are pretty damn tough. Run an ecu diag and see if/what error codes come up.

i think mr V5 was talking from the point of the 99/00 maf problem that was blamed on induction kits,as long as you dont use an oiled one should be ok as its the oil that screws the maf, brand new or not but a decent panel filter in the standard box is as good imo

I have changed my MAF 5 times! Fitted the 57i induction kit and have had no problems with the MAF since.
