What a waste of £200 notes
When I bought my STI it was fitted with WR1 alloys that was in need of a refurb.
18 months later after spending loads of cash on other car bits, I decided it was the time to get the alloys refurbed.
I searched around locally and after being let down by a company I opted for an established company that had a web site and seemed to know what they were talking about.
"Bring them down this morning and they will be ready tomorrow evening " I was told "wow" I thought.
After putting my car on axle stands in the garage (a load of arseing around)I eagerly took the alloys to the company ("a very precious stone-WHEELS" in Stockport)
I was immediately told by the owners son that the quoted £50 per wheel was now £65 (due to the colour) and the 2 day finish time was now 4 days.
I drove away thinking.............
2 days later I got a very unprofessional and long winded call from the owner who explained that the lad that took the alloys from me had already dipped them (in acid) and he didnt know what colour they were before dipping
OMG is this clown going to spray my alloys ?
At that stage I should have asked for them back !
5 days after I dropped them off they were ready. With laptop in hand(to compare original colour with new using photos) I anxiously went to collect them in full knowledge they would not be as I expected.
WTF...........As soon as I saw them I realised the colour was wrong, I could clearly see loads of imperfections under the paint where old damage had not been repaired, there were several tiny but noticeable sharp bits as if sprayed over sand!, there were paint runs and small crators in the paint and what appeared like a small screwdiver had been dropped causing a minor dent.
F**kin amatures is an understatement. I spent the next 15 minutes slating the guy and his company but it fell on deaf ears.
He stated that he could not guarantee "like new" ...no **** Sherlock!.....and that had he took delivery of the alloys he wouldn't have took the job on. I asked how he was going to sort them out but he said if he resprayed them he couldn't guarantee they would be any better. Dozey ****.
I threw some cash at him and took the alloys away.
Apparantly this company have a contract with the local BMW and AUDI dealers.
CAUTION........never get alloys refurbed without the company being recommended first.
Rant over.

When I had light to medium kerb damage on my silver WRX 01 alloys, I asked the tyre place that sells me my tyres, to recommend someone.
They had a depot in the next town that did refurb work, so I took them there.
Got them back three days later, perfect, and paid £25 for the two.
Now THAT'S service. Kingsway Tyres, if anyone needs work in this part of the world.

And STILL North Lincs council trot out their tame copper to tell us that "there's no such thing as a dangerous road, just dangerous drivers"
WHY they won't straighten that road is beyond me, considering how much traffic it carries

I am getting more and more annoyed as time goes on.
I should have just given enough cash to cover the cost of paint.
