just make sure the lambda hole is in the correct place on both cars as some earlier ones had the cat on fire sensor in the downpipe and lambda in the up pipe .I made that mistake already

Any particular reason you want a downpipe? I just have my centre cat refitted at MoT time, get it nice and hot before turning up a the test centre and it *should* pass. Only takes 20 mins to swap a centre section. Swapping a downpipe is much more difficult, especially as the studs on the turbo tend to get a bit solid and you can end up breaking one or two

Oh and finally the exhausts on turbo'd classics are all the same and hence interchangeable, as mentioned the only difference may be where the Lambda probe goes. On early WRXs I think it was in the headers or up pipe so you'd need to put a bolt in the whole if the downpipe boss is redundant.

no offence fella, but its gonna be hard for a car with a decat and an emissions probe up the backbox to pass an mot. its not just a quick test, its very thorough now, the only way of beating it being to put the probe in a different car on the idle tests.

for the record, im soon to be buggered too, got a full decat, and mot is due nov 7th...

just curious have standard centre section in the shed... has that a cat on it or a resonator? my99 uk classic.
