I have bought a set of guages from milsport but when fitting the boost guage im not sure where the boost sensor is supposed to go.

Theres a t-peice which fits to 3 hoses and theres the boost sensor which has an attachment for a hose

Can anyone tell me which hose the sensor fits on to??

in the middle on top of the inlet manifold there is an extra take off you can can use, it has a little black cover that pulls off and you simply just push your pipe onto that.

The sensor is a pipe which is attached to a black plastic housing

I havent sorry mate.

I have searched other posts and it seems that the best way to do it is to run the vacuum pipe from the gauge to the spare nipple on the intake manifold.....this sounds too simple to be true!!??

the 2 wires are for illumination and the pipe is for the readings, looking tour intake for a black cap, close to all the other pipes coming off, just slip the pipe on there and your done.

Thats correct.

A mate of mine bought some gauges, not sure what brand, which were sort of Defi-like, no vac pipe to the gauge itself, thought it might have been the same sort.

As what's been posted also, the 2 wires off the back of the gauge are for illumination and will probably need extending.

Cheers james

I also had a plastic t-piece with the gauges. Does anyone know what hoses connect to the t-peice?

I think the hose from the boost sensor connects to the bottom of the t-piece but im not sure about the other 2 conections

No, the T piece is so that you can cut into an existing pipe, which then joins the top part of the T, while the boost gauge is taken off the bottom of the T.

However, as already said, look at the intake manifold on your car: as you are facing the car from the bumper, look at the front right of the manifold. On mine there was a black rubber cap over an unused nipple. Remove said cap, store it and connect boost pipe to nipple WITHOUT the T piece.

Oil temp. About 90 degrees when properly warmed up. About 100 degrees if you're going too fast on the motorway.

Oil pressure. About 100psi when the car is first started. Will drop a bit when idling. When the oil has warmed up, it'll sit at around 90psi. But at idle can drop as low as 30-35psi.

Boost. Depends on car and revs. Mine will peak at 25psi and drop to about 20-22psi.

Note: gauges aren't always accurate or comparable. But I've had two different sets now and both gave roughly the same readings as above.

When warmed up im getting an oil temp of around 80.

Oil pressure is around 25-30 at idle and varies as im driving.

At peak im getting 0.8 bar of boost.....does this sound right?

I think thats about right for the oil temp/pressure.

I'm running a little more boost than you, but I think thats about right, if your cars is fairly standard.

Glad you got it sorted.

I noticed today that 10 mins after starting the car i was getting 1.0bar of boost but after about another 10mins of driving i was only getting 0.7-0.8bar

Is this normal??

I have PPP fitted to the car so its not completely standard

Cheers

Not sure I'm afraid. Don't worry to much about it though. It's not an exact science.
