Impreza to have a new body via Prodrive!!!!!
#1
Not sure if this is old news to you guys?
Prodrive have recently being given a contract by Subaru to give the body a re-vamp due to poor sales, every panel on the car is to be changed due to a poor response on the new model.
Maybe why only prodrive versions of the sti are being pushed out first????

What they should have done the first time. The old turbo wasnt a gorgeous car but it had character. The Bug eyes model looks fugly hence why most people spend more money changing the front end visually. Hopefully its something that looks more like the P1.

Chances are that it would only be a special edition, possibly a Tomi Mak' version. It would cost millions to put a new design into production. I have heard that sales of the WRX are higher than for any other Subaru ever. I doubt that Subaru would be pushing the STI if a new model was on the way.

Autocar report implied it was a revamp and across the range due to the lack of sales... everything except the glass I think they said Pro Drive could change but not neccessarily going to..
I think they said for 2003... this is all from my memory, I read the article before Xmas... must be on the net somewhere?

manufacturers seem to have a habit of knocking out a 'special' version of a car thats due to be replaced in the not too distant future...
eg focus rs, new focus due perhaps 2003
225 bhp A3, new one next year (or is it this year?)
what better way of shifting your soon to be outdated/ugly/no one will want one (delete as applicable ) stock, and start afresh with a newer/better looking/more expensive(delete as applicable )in 2003?
i personally will wait for more news on the revamp, 25k is a lot of dough for a car as ugly, IMHO, as the wrx sti. i would be as sick as adog if i bought one, only for 12 months later a much nicer one popped along
am i the only one who's suspicious about the seemingly low price of the standard sti? if they charged 28k, people would have paid it.
so why so cheap in comparison to the standard wrx? i feel sorry for uk300 owners
