Default Police in Harrogate

Just coming out of Harrogate Last Sunday on the road from Killinghall..straight country type road signs say 30mph.I was following three cars and we all were doing about 30ish, in the distance about 100yards there is a sign saying 40mph and 30 yards after the sign tucked in a side road is the police pointing the speed camera into the 30 zone I had speeded up to about 36mph before i noticed the copper, WTF is that all about.Waiting to see if anything comes through the post now

I beleive it`s to do with the `Zero tolerence` with their latest campaign Operation Helical. It`s been in all the local papers and on the news.
Slow down

If I were doing an indicated 36 in the 30 zone, I wouldn't be to worried about getting a ticket.

my point is that i was only 100 yards away from the 40mph zone which the police were waiting in.I had been doing 30mph al the way along the 30 zone so what difference would 100yards make on a country road with no houses, schools buildings etc.....
Next door neighbour had their car broken into last week and the police didnt even turn up to investigate....sounds like prioritys are a bit confused

their priority is easy-job first... moving around can be very taxing on their belt buckle so if they can sit down to do their job... they will!...

Unfortunately mate 36 in a 30 is 20% over the limit, most forces across the UK will give a discretion of 10%, am sorry but you are twice that, so expect to get NIP through your door within 14 days of the offence .
I totally agree with you thou, it so frustrating that the law can be allowed to do this. I think that if you get a good solicitor you would get off with it, I know someone that got off doing 75 in a 60 while overtaking a lorry on a crawler lane, the police where sitting at the top of the crawler lane catching everyone that was overtaking. The local sheriff threw the case out saying that the police acted in an unfair manner. Good luck
