That looks a lot more like kph than mph to me. The scenery just did not seem to be moving fast enough during the lead up to the high speed run..

Hard to judge high speed really from on board on an open road, at low speeds the speed looks right 30-35 behind trucks...

How about this one then ?
YouTube - 228 MPH + hyabusa turbo.
Always claimed to be genuine but sure dont look like its THAT speed.

Any doubts about the Hyabusa speed... can be sorta settled with this..

YouTube - R1 gets passed by a Hyabusa

Now there you CAN see the speed.

That's definitely in Mph.

The bikes in sixth gear. Judging by the red line on the tacho, it's a 750 or a 1000cc bike. Which can do ~90 - 100Mph in first gear!!

Whatever speed it was i got to say that it looked too fast even for a play. The sky was dark and the road was wet too. My bet is that the Cop's will be able to trace the front biker from his number plate. Im sure if they freeze frame the video and use forensic software they will have him by the goolies

Just my opinion

Not very clever really. It was dark, wet, dense traffic, passing on solid whites (big no no) & riding in jeans and what looks like a non-protected jacket. I'm all for opening the throttle on car or bike, but only when the conditions are right.

And riding on the slippery white lines and cats eyes in the middle of the road, all in all a display of poor riding skills in my opinion

If the road is not dead straight & is clear of traffic then IMHO a well modded scoob can easily stick with a sports bike. They are soft southern shandy drinkers after all ...

Wrong 750 GSXR 76mph in first, well mine did. 1000cc may do 10mph more tops in first.

You'd need the gobstopper to stay with a Honda Fireblade, which the bike in the video is, as rightly pointed out above.

I love forums and pubs. People do talk utter bollocks sometimes

Indeed they do. I am proud of my enormous chicken strips

I'd still leave any car standing mind even going around the bend like a fifty pence piece. The GSX-R 750 is a lovely bike mate. I almost bought one before getting my blade. It was six and two threes which to go for I have to say.

R6 needs to be high in revs 10k revs then they start to take off, stop at 16-17k revs. Thats where all the power is, so your mate should be in no higher then 3rd 62mph in 1st 92mph in second, had one of these also first bike.

I'll keep with scoob here, but a good modded scoob not daft power as it's not needed will keep with a bike in the twisty's end of. But what the ****** go after that, but havin 600 bhp per tonne(R6) you would expect it to yes.
