Right really think hard about getting a SUBARU IMPREZA WRX TURBO STI Spec import 1995, but the wife came up with a good point, whats the mpg like, Not to bovvered about day to day, as i only work 6mile away, but its on a good run, At the moment iam driving a Mondeo ST24 with a 2.5 V6, and can get on a none stop run 390ish out of a full tank.
Want to be able to get more than 200 miles out of a full tank, like when we go out to the coast for a drive on a weekend etc,
So if you can tell me what you roughly get out of a full tank, driving hard or just driving normaly so i can tell her to shut up,
Cheers

1999 WRX STI 5 Type R
Around town and dual carage way hard driving 16 MPG
60 mph motorway driving with a few blips now and thn 23 MPG
The Type R is low geared remember so the other Imprezas should be better.
Oh and mines standard appart from a full 3" system inc Decat.

have to use something like photobucket (Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket) it's free, upload your picture to it,then copy and paste the 'IMG CODE' into your post

For the imports I've heard it's best to run on V-power with octane booster in or get remapped for the UK fuel of your choice. This can help reduce knock and subsequent early failure of your engine through melt of one of the pistons, thinks it's no 3 as it's the closest to the turbo.

Trouble is, the Classic Impreza can make a bishop drive like a loon. Using all my willpower I can get up to 27mpg (classic WRX), but usually I get tempted to sprint up to cruising speed (60mph of course, m'lud) which gives me close to 20.

I've got a UK T2000 Classic and have no problem getting 24-26mpg around town then 28-30 mph on a longer run. I do push it at times when the roads allow and really enjoy the car for what it was made for, to be driven and enjoyed

MPG....
Here we go again....
I do a 62 mile round trip commute- Fleet, Hants to Isleworth, Middlesex. Full on Monday. Fill up Wednesday morning: £45 in V-power. Fill up again Friday on the way into work: £36. That's my week. I can't calculate the MPG from that but it's a fair bit.

dont know about mpg but if i put £20 of 97 ron in i get about 110 miles
if i put £20 of tesco's 99 i get a bit more about 120 miles
thats a mixture of normal speeds and a little bit of traffic light 0 -60 grand prix

Mate,
That aint no STi imo, its a WRX
Its got the wrong coloured inlet manifold and the wrong back lights and I thought all STi had gold wheels? It has WRX seats also.
Double check but thats the first thing I thought when looking at the pictures.

why does it say in the advert traction contol?
Someone has just stuck newage badges on the boot.
It's still looks a nice car though
i've run my 93wrx on 98 optimax then moved onto Vpower or Tescos 99 ron (without octane booster),you can run the earlier imports on 97 ron but you will lose a small amount of performance.
